WELCOME TO FAMILY MONTH AT GPC!

This August, we’re pulling up a chair and making room for what matters most. At The Table is more than a theme...it’s an invitation. An invitation to slow down, gather close, and rediscover the power of connection, conversation, and Christ-centered community. Whether you’re a family of one or ten, there’s a place for you. Join us each week as we grow in faith, strengthen our homes, and make space for others around the table.

Weekly Focus Verse and Family Challenge
Week 1 - Set the Table
Focus Verse and Family Challenge
Scripture
Proverbs 7:1–3 (KJV)
"My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my
commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart."
Challenge
Set a time on the calendar when dinner will be at the table each night this week. Make sure everyone is committed to be at the table together at the same time each night. Cancel everything within reason to be together at the table. Make sure the table is set and prepared for family being together.
Week 2 - Head of the Table
Focus Verse and Family Challenge
Scripture
Colossians 1:16-18 (NIV)
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
Challenge
Pray together before meals this week. Each person takes a turn.
Week 3 - Around the Table
Focus Verse and Family Challenge
Scripture
Ephesians 5:21 (NLT)
"And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."
Challenge
Each person encourages someone else at the table with words of affirmation.
Week 4 - On the Table
Focus Verse and Family Challenge
Scripture
Philippians 4:8 (ESV)
" Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
Challenge
Do a table clean-up by removing a "negative influence" and replace it with a biblical value or habit.
Week 5 - Add a Leaf
Focus Verse and Family Challenge
Scripture
Romans 15:7 (ESV)
"Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God."
Challenge
Invite someone (a neighbor, co-worker, another church family) to eat or pray with your family this week.
